COVID-19 and Child Support Services in New York State
The New York Child Support Program is committed to delivering services to the greatest extent possible through this public health crisis. Many local offices have limited staff or staggered schedules. We strongly encourage you to limit person-to-person contact by using the options listed below:
Make a payment
Please do not send cash. We encourage you to use an online payment service or pay by mail.
Apply for child support services
Complete an Application for Child Support Services (a fillable PDF).
Request relief from enforcement
Complete and return the appropriate form:
- Affidavit of Net Worth
- Driver License Suspension Request or Challenge
- Mistake of Fact and/or Exempt Money Claim
- Request for Review of Additional Amount
- Statement of Income and Expenses
- Department of Taxation and Finance Challenge
- Professional License Suspension Claim
Many of these forms are fillable. To complete them with a mobile device, you may need an additional app, and free versions are available. Try searching for "app to fill out pdf" to find an appropriate version for your device.

Court information
Courts in all regions are now accepting petitions for child support matters and are holding hearings for child support matters either virtually or in-person. If you need to file a petition in a new or existing child support matter, we encourage you to visit the New York State Unified Court System for more information on current operating hours and procedures for the Family Court in your county and how to contact the court. Note that at this time visitors to any Unified Court System facility will be required to submit to temperature screening and questioning upon entering the building before going through security.

In New York City: You may now file support modification petitions, motions, and requests with the New York City Family Court. You can send them by email to NYFCSupport@nycourts.gov or by U.S. Mail to the appropriate county Family Court. Find the mailing address for your Family Court. Update case information
To report a change of address, change of employer, loss or reduction of employment, email your local child support office. Find contact information on the Local Offices page.
Access your account online
Log in with your NY.gov ID account to check payments or disbursements.
If you do not have a NY.gov ID, you can create a NY.gov ID now.
Apply for Direct Deposit
Complete and submit a Direct Deposit Enrollment Form. For more information, see the Direct Deposit page.
Report or resolve enforcement issues
Email your local child support office—RECOMMENDED—or
Call the New York State Child Support Helpline at 1-888-208-4485. Please note you may experience longer than normal wait times to speak with a representative and may be asked to call back.
